InDesign Problem with Shadows on exporting for PDF/X-1a:2001

Click the image to open in full size.

I have a document with a rectangular box sitting over a picture using a drop shadow in InDesign.

I have to export the PDF as a PDF/X-1a:2001 for the printer.

However whenever I export the PDF using PDF/X-1a:2001 (compatibility Acrobat 4, 1.3) it puts a very small keyline on the picture around the shadow. This doesn't happen when you make it compatible with Acrobat 5. However it's then not PDF/X-1a:2001 compliant, so i need to find a way to stop it making this keyline while being Acrobat 4 compatible.

Any tips of how to stop this keyline?

No, but you're picture doesn't line up at the top and the right. Or is that the problem you're talking about?

Twitter... Don't get any high expectations.
Portfolio... Coming some day soon, hopefully.

It does line up in the document. Its one complete picture behind the box. Thats my whole point, PDF export is making it appear odd behind the shadow.
thanks )

I think you will find that this is just a hairline and won't show up when printed.

Just ask for a proof to be printed out before going ahead with the entire run to check.

Thanks, I've sent a test to the people printing it, to see if it does print out.

yea, it'll be fine when printing... I've seen this a load of times and it never affects the final print
