Help help sos!!!!! Ppl

At present i am studying graphic design at college which is an btec national diploma.

I want to study BA Hons at university, but i dont know what area i want to specialise in yet...but on the top of the list is something maybe in tv adverts/music videos, advertising or just do graphic design course.

the problem is that i want to chose the right career path, because anything related in this design industry is hard to get your foot in the door cause of young creative designers just like myself with a thin portfolio and no experience

So how can i stand out from everyone else?????...

i want to go into a career which theres a "gap for " ? and has a massive based salary???????

i want to push my career all the way,and be the best and become successful

Hopefully u people can help me out

have you considered a different career path?

I'm sorry I had to. Advice, I never planned to specialise in anything, when you get to uni, your first year will cover most bases (or atleast it should) and it is better to let a particular discipline find you. It can take years to find a style of working that suits you and suits a medium. I found I work better in print, but web work doesn't scare me.

Back to the joke, if money is really your priority, then seriously why graphic design? I think the main reason graphic design attracted me was it was an avenue to be creative and not be a poor artist.

She said I'm too wild, she want to tame me, I told her even PhotoShop couldn't change me.

That one is brilliant Glen!

What's this thread about again?

The best advice I can give is to relax a bit. Everyone finds their own way into the industry, I doubt that there are too many designers that have similar career paths.

Be passionate about what you are doing, look for every opportunity that happens by and be active. Do as much work as you can, learn as much as you can. The more you do the easier the answers to your questions will seem.

You are the only person that can figure out what will make you happy. As a creative person I think it's much better to aim to be happy than rich, because if you go into design with the sole purpose of making money you'll probably end up being miserable.
