Just wondering if anyone had some suggestions for places that have great value art & design materials as well as being pretty competitive in price? I've bought a few things from Amazon and Ebay but thought there may be a good reliable trader out there somewhere.

Hi guys, wondering if you could help me out.

Is there an iPad alternative which is more suited for creatives?
specifically for doing quick drawings and making notes? preferably these notes would be able to be exported as images, or something I can organise on the computer.

I've got nothing against the iPad, just all the stylus solutions I see for the iPad are quite crap and aren't very accurate.

To all of you mac users out there - what is your mac set up?

Ive got a 20inch imac that I use for work in my office set up at home but now need to invest in a macbook or macbook pro for meetings.

My use will be showing them graphics and websites and some on site design work.

Im definately going to get a 13inch but its out of the new macbook pro aluminium body or the older (squared design) macbook white that I would max out with ram to 4gb?

My choices are the following:

Macbook 13" Pro 250gb hardrive 2.66ghz processor 4gb ram
MacBook 13" Pro 300gb hardrive 2ghz processor 2gb ram
Macbook 13" White 160gb hardrive 2.13ghz processor 2gb ram (i would upgrade to 4gb and use an external hardrive for work files)

Should i opt for the cheaper macbook or wait and push for the macbook pro considering my use.

Cheers,

Phil

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong section.

I start uni in September, and am looking to buy a PC - I currently do all of my illustrator & photoshop work on a laptop and it's not really ideal, so I was thinking of getting a desktop which would be used solely for my design stuff/uni work.

I would love to have a Mac, but I'm not really in a position to spend £800+ on one so would happily buy a Windows PC instead. I'm not at all clued up on the specs etc of these so I wondered if anyone could give me some advice on what I should be looking for when the time comes.

Obviously it needs to be able to handle the running of the software (my laptop threatens death if I run Illustrator & Photoshop together :( ) and I'd need good graphics on it. But, as I said, I'm hopeless with this stuff! Would I be pushing it if I set a budget of £4-£500? Or is this realistic? What sort of specs should I be looking at?

Thanks in advance - I appreciate any help! :D
