Just because everyone moaning seems to have kind of missed this
ie a card that will need to be used multiple times. Paper will be of no use in this instance and I don't know many people going to throw away a discount card so it's not like its more rubbish

I suppose you could suggest the mobile phone approach (ie image on phone) but then thats not what the client wants

I agree with Berry on this. Plastic can be recycled and its better that the plastic gets used into business cards than putting it in a land fill somewhere.

What would you prefer. Milk bottles in land fill or milk bottles made into business cards?

Im in your corner on this one Berry. Why should Berry maybe lose a client for the sake of 1000 plastic business cards. We are supposed to help each other not rant at people, even if we dont agree fully with what others are doing.

I am on Berry's side too. I didn't mean to imply that he would get negative notoriety as the designer. And I really didn't mean to imply that I was thinking he should not to take the job, I'm really sorry if I did, I'm terrible at wording things sometimes.

My observations were directed at the company, (which maybe was not fair of me) though you all make valid points about how the plastic ones could be okay.

PS the green debate is a lot more indepth than you think, often recycled paper is no better than "new" paper for the environment and as for hybrid engines, theyre only half decent around town and the carbon emissions made while creating it mean your better off buying 10 old cars instead... Catch 22.

Same can be said with concrete, Yes it causes a lot of c02 to create but it lasts 5 to 10x longer than other materials so it begins to even out. Inntttteerrressstttiiinnggg.

Just thought I'd let you know... My plastic credit cards arrived yesterday.
I've just checked outside the window, and the street is still intact, there is movement and nobody has died. I've Googled frantically this morning to see if the rainforest is still there and everything seems ok. The BBC news seem quiet for a Wednesday and nobody has suggested that my use of plastic was responsible for any earth tremors around the globe, so I think I may have well gotten away with it.

Tell that to the people in Chile and Hiati....
